Well done to Naomh Mhuire U16 Div 1 team on winning the Shield Final on Saturday in Clonberne pitch against Kilkerrin / Clonberne.
It was a great game and a tight scoring game throughout, with very little between the teams at most stages.
Naomh Mhuire girls never gave up, and kept working hard.
Their perseverance paid off and when the final whistle blew Naomh Mhuire girls had done it. A score line of 2-12 Naomh Mhuire to 1-11 Kilkerrin Clonberne.
A superb run from Siobhan Carr from mid field to score the final score - a goal for Naomh Mhuire sealed the game.
Well done to Hannah Jennings for a great Captains speech.
The Naomh Mhuire backs played a very tight defensive game with some great blocks evident. The midfield and forwards worked tirednessly to create chances and it paid off.
The work rate, attitude and team play from the entire panel is what wins games. Well done to each one of you, very proud coaches and club.
Also wishing Darina a speedy recovery from her injury, she played so well up to the injury and with only 1 minute to go had to come off. We are all thinking of you.
Also, best wishes and a speed recovery to Hannah Doyle & Emily Grealy, Tara Molloy also out through injury.
Also, best wishes to Anna Cotter on her new adventure to the Aran Islands. She was that committed to her team she put off the move until after the final .
Thanks so much to parents/families for their commitment all season with training, covid restrictions, and travelling to all our games .
