The Hurling Academy organised two successful coaching clinics recently

Gerry Spellman coached the academy hurling & camogie coaches on skills, drills & activities to be used in our upcoming sessions. Focus on continuous movement, head, hand, feet positioning, striking off both sides along with fun group activities incorporating decision making, special awareness and being comfortable with the ball in hand were some of the learning shared on the night.

Declan Durrane (South Galway Athletics Club & Camogie Coach) demonstrated to coaches from all the One Club Academy the benefit of athletic activity in the development of our academy boys and girls. 30+ coaches watched and learned as Declan demonstrated with the help of 15 of our academy boys & girls from camogie, football & hurling methods of dynamic stretching and warm up; upper & lower body activation, running technique & development, early core strength exercises, plyometrics and fun activities to introduce into our academy sessions.
