The Galway LGFA Safeguarding 2 (Children's Officer) face to face workshop will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 23rd April 2024 in St. Mary’s College, Galway and is three hours in duration. You are required to attend the full workshop to receive a certificate of attendance afterwards.
Please Note. You must have completed the GAA Safeguarding 1 course before doing the GAA Safeguarding 2 course
Certificates are now issued electronically and to receive your cert you need to complete two steps beforehand via the GAA Learning Portal.
PLEASE NOTE: if you do not register/enrol in the course within 2 weeks after the workshop has taken place, you will not be issued with a certificate and will be required to attend another Safeguarding Workshop.
Step 1- You must complete this step in advance of the face to face workshop.
Firstly, you will need to register for a GAA Learning account if you do not already have one. Please follow the steps as per the attached PDF. We ask that you do this prior to the date of the face to face workshop.
*Please note that the name you set your GAA Learning account up as is the name which will appear on your cert eg. Joe Bloggs. DO NOT set up the account in someone else's name or use someone else's account.
Step 2 - You must enrol online in advance of the face to face workshop. If you do not enroll in the workshop, no certificate can be issued, and you will not be registered on the database as having completed safeguarding training.
The link to enrol on the workshop is - https://learning.gaa.ie/lms/course/view.php?id=18446 - it will prompt you to sign into your GAA Learning account. The enrolment key is - safeguarding2 - all lower case.
Once signed in you will see the details for the workshop and you can download the Safeguarding Workbook and Maintaining Good Practice & Behaviour booklet. Your child safeguarding tutor is Michael Curley.
Once you have attended the full duration of the safeguarding 1 workshop, you will receive your certificate by email a few days after the workshop has taken place.
