Oranmore Maree One Club ran the annual Camogie/Hurling this week, and 225 boys and girls from U6 to U13 enjoyed a great week of skill development and fun. The weather was pretty good and hopefully all the kids had a worthwhile week and it encouraged them to continue their development in Camogie and Hurling and aspire to continue participating in our club for many years to come.

We are particularly grateful to our Games Development Officer, Jack Grealish, who organised and supervised the Cúl Camp, in his final week as our GDO, and also to our 2 senior coaches, Christina Brennan, who has captained our Senior Camogie team for the past few years, and Róisín Black, who is the current Galway Senior Camogie captain. All 3 did a great job and it was great to have them involved.

We also have to sincerely thank our adult coaches who volunteered to supervise and help out each day, and also our Junior coaches who planned the drills and organised mini games and small sided matches and made the week fun for the children, we are very grateful for their presence at our Cúl Camp.

On Friday, we had visits from the All Ireland Féile winning U15 team, who brought their trophies from 2024 with them, and also from Oranmore/Maree and Galway county senior players Gearoid McInerney, Niamh Hanniffy and Rachel Hanniffy who signed hurls alongside Róisín, and chatted with the children-these senior and U15 players are great role models in our club and really give inspiration to the younger kids so we were delighted to see them and many thanks to them for coming along and generating the excitement that they did...

Finally, best of luck to all our players for the rest of the season, and in particular, to the Galway Senior Camogie team next weekend in the All Ireland Semi Final.
