In a major milestone for the Oranmore Maree GAA One Club, we were delighted last Saturday to welcome the President of the GAA, Jarlath Burns and Patrick O’Donovan, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media of Ireland, as they officially turned the sod on the Renville Sports Grounds.
The day was a great success for the club with the rain thankfully staying away. In particular, we would like to thank the Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit, who looked after the refreshments on the day and to all the stewards that managed the traffic around the event. Also, thanks to Galway Bay Golf Resort/Connacht Hospitality Group for hosting us before and after the Sod Turning Ceremony.
Unfortunately, as the event took place on an active building site with work underway since the start of the year, we were limited in the number of people that could attend safely on the day. Hopefully, it will not be long before we will be having the official opening, for all of the many great supporters we have for this hugely exciting project for our One Club.
