In what was a thrilling game of football, first half goals from Cillian Costello & Tiernan Grealish as well as points from Gus Lohan, Gavan Curran, Rian Donohue, Cillian Costello & 3 from Barry Keating ensured we went in with a 7 point lead, 2-06 to 0-07.
Facing into the breeze & having to patch up some walking wounded for the 2nd half, the lads battled bravely through out as the expected Claregalway comeback materialised. However we kept the scoreboard ticking over with points from Barry Keating, Joey Cullinane, Tiernan Grealish & Tom Furlong having us a point up going into injury time. We finished the stronger & 2 points from Barry Keating ensured that we ran out 3 point winners.
Congratulations to Eoghan McGuire, Padraig Keating, Phil Furlong & Paul Munnelly for having the lads so well prepared throughout the season. With 16 lads on both the u17 hurling & football panels, credit must go to the management teams of both to be able to manage the busy training & match schedules for the lads throughout the season.
Congrats to all the lads who were part of both panels as well as the u19 Football & u20 Hurling. Special mention to Stephen Ruane & Barry Keating who were involved with all 4 teams.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the team in Tuam as well as Team Sponsor Kilsaran.
We look forward to watching these lads progress on up into adult football & watching them grace the new pitches in Chubb Renville Gaelic Grounds in the years to come.
