The workshop format works brilliantly - an hour with the players on their own first, followed by a separate hour with parents. This gives both groups the safe space to engage openly. The lads were brilliantly engaged throughout - asking questions and really taking it all in. Huge thanks to Aisling Egerton (Westmeath Camogie) and Joe Mooney (Galway Hurling) for their excellent facilitation along with Paul our Juvenile Chair, for backing this important initiative.
If this workshop helps even one young person navigate life's challenges better, then it's been a success. 📢 CALLING ALL TEAMS: If you'd like to organise an Ahead of the Game session for your group - whether that's Camogie, LGFA, Football or Hurling from U13 to U17 - please contact Seán Kinsella (087 338 5064). Mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness, and every team I deserves access to these valuable resources.
Let's keep the conversation going and support our young players in every way we can.
