Huge congratulations to Barry Keating on being selected the Galway GAA U17A Footballer of the Year for 2025. 👏👏
Oranmore Maree U17A Football squad had a remarkable year by winning both the Galway Minor Championship and the Connacht Minor Championship.
Barry's scores played a very important part in the teams success. Barry ended up the U17 club campaign scoring a huge total of 6-70 across the Galway and Connacht minor club championships.
Barry also won the "man of the match" award in the County Final V Claregalway, scoring 0-06 in the final and played a important role in scoring 1-07 in the Connacht Final V Westport.
It was a brilliant season by Barry in representing the Galway Minor Footballers in 2025 (scoring 1-40 for the Galway Minors), and being part of the clubs U17A Hurling, U19A Football and U20A Hurling squads that also captured Galway Championship wins in 2025, making it a historic year for the club.
Barry received his award on Saturday 21st February 2026 from the Galway County Board at a function in the Galmont Hotel.
Well done to Barry and many congratulations for a well deserved award!
